Chocolate Alfajor

Ingredients:

  • 500g of semi-sweet chocolate bar
  • 2 packs of round Maria biscuits
  • 1 jar of dulce de leche
  • Parchment paper

Instructions:

  1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler.
  2. Spread dulce de leche on one biscuit, then place another biscuit on top, creating a sandwich.
  3. Using two forks, or a spaghetti fork if you have one, dip the sandwich into the melted chocolate.
  4. Place the chocolate-covered biscuits on a tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Repeat the process until the tray is full.
  6. Put the tray in the freezer for 15 minutes. Once chilled, remove the alfajores, and they’re ready to enjoy!

Dulce de Leche Alfajor

Ingredients:

  • 3 eggs
  • 300g of sugar
  • 300g of margarine
  • 10 drops of vanilla essence
  • 500g of cornstarch
  • 100g of wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 20 tablespoons of dulce de leche
  • 500g of milk chocolate

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, mix the eggs, sugar, margarine, and vanilla essence.
  2. Add the cornstarch, wheat flour, and baking powder.
  3. Knead with your hands until the dough forms a smooth ball. If necessary, add more cornstarch until the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
  4. Let the dough rest in the fridge for 1 hour.
  5. Roll out the dough and cut 48 circles using a cookie cutter. Bake them until golden.
  6. Once baked, spread dulce de leche on one biscuit and cover it with another, making a sandwich.
  7. Dip the alfajor sandwiches into the melted milk chocolate and let them set for a few minutes.
